About
Moritz Ernst is an artist and designer working at the intersection of digital and physical media. His creative process begins with experimenting with forms, colors, themes, and structures. Trial and error, intuitive decisions, and interaction with the surrounding space enable him to work freely—either consciously breaking or following established design principles.
His work blends 3D design, VR sculpting, and traditional painting. Digital compositions often serve as standalone pieces, but over time, his goal has increasingly become to use three-dimensional work as a foundation for large-scale mural paintings. His style is defined by dynamic structures, strong colors, and a play on depth and texture. Through a mix of traditional materials like acrylic, spray paint, and ink, along with digital tools such as Cinema 4D, Nomad Sculpt, TouchDesigner, and ZBrush, he is always searching for new experiences and visually compelling moments. The tools he works with are essential to his process, shaping both his creative approach and the final outcome.
Approach
Each project starts with a concept and in-depth research, followed by an open-ended creative process where experimentation plays a key role. He carefully selects his tools based on the mood and visuals he wants to create, trusting the process and embracing mistakes as part of the journey. He enjoys creating pieces that integrate with their surroundings, whether through physical textures or immersive digital environments.
Artistic Vision
Moritz Ernst's work is not confined to a single style or medium. Instead, he sees art as a way of exploring and connecting different tools and ideas. His focus is on structure, materials, and space, whether in the physical or digital realm. For him, the process is just as important as the outcome.
